1. Can I put OS Maps on a Garmin eTrex Solar GPS unit?

No, you can not as it does not have a colour screen, put you can import routes from the Garmin Explore App to navigate with as a black course line to follow on the screen.

Also with offline maps downloaded to the Garmin Explore App on your mobile phone you can view your position moving across the map on the Explore App even with no mobile data.

2. Can you solar charge the eTrex Solar when Turned Off?

Yes you can – When you power off your device it goes into a low power, battery charging mode, and a screen will display with solar charging statistics.
The display turns off automatically when sunlight is no longer detected.
NOTE: You can enable or disable the solar charging screen in the system settings.

3. Is the Garmin eTrex Solar a good GPS for geocaching?

If you are on a budget and you just want to go geocaching this would be a great GPS for you, plus you can now access and download live Geoacaches to the device without the need for a computer when paired with a phone with Internet / Mobile Data.
