Garmin GPSMAP 67 in the Lake District

Has the Garmin GPSMAP 67 been discontinued?

Yes, the Garmin GPSMAP 67 has been officially discontinued. It marked a wonderful chapter in Garmin’s handheld GPS legacy, but like all good technology, its evolution has moved on.

That said, we’re still able to offer the GPSMAP 67i, the same rugged, highly capable outdoor GPS unit you know and trust - but with one important upgrade: built-in two-way satellite communication via the Garmin-supported network. That addition brings peace of mind for walkers, backpackers and adventurers who want reliable messaging and tracking off-grid, without needing a separate device.

What Replaces the GPSMAP 67?

Garmin has succeeded the GPSMAP 67 with the Garmin GPSMAP H1 - a thoughtful refresh in the same product segment, designed to bring modern expectations of performance and durability to the fore.

You can see the full details and availability here: Garmin GPSMAP H1

The GPSMAP H1 picks up where the 67 left off, giving you a robust outdoor GPS that’s easy to use on the hill, down the trail or on expedition, but with updated hardware and interface improvements that reflect several years of Garmin’s development since the original 67 launched.

A Fond Farewell to a Beloved GPS

It is genuinely sad to see the Garmin GPSMAP 67 reach the end of its production life. For many of us in the outdoor GPS community, it has been a standout device. Its story began with the launch of the GPSMAP 66s in October 2018, the first time Garmin brought this tough, boxy-form handheld GPS unit into the lineup. That ushered in a new era of handhelds with excellent reception, clear screens and dependable build quality.

From the original 66s to the 66sr, and finally to the GPSMAP 67, each step represented meaningful refinements that earned the respect and loyalty of walkers, mountaineers and navigation purists alike.

While the 67 may no longer be current, we’re profoundly grateful for the years of service it’s given to so many routes, ridges and remote corners of the world.

What This Means for You

- You can no longer order new Garmin GPSMAP 67 stock. Sadly we have sold through all the stock we had

- The GPSMAP 67i remains available and is a great choice if you want the traditional form factor plus satellite communication.

- The Garmin GPSMAP H1 is Garmin’s current replacement, bringing refreshed performance and design, ideal for outdoor navigation without compromise.
